“The close coupled system makes the Packo cantilever pump, commercially and technically, the best solution for us."

Heavy conditions for the pumps
For circulating applications in lacquer baths, rinsing baths, degreasing baths and soap baths, they use cantilever pumps from the IML series. Voestalpine Sadef prefers cantilever pumps for those applications because they offer a more reliable solution to dry mounted pumps.
In addition, these applications also use products with a pH-value up to 14pH. It is therefore important that the pumps can take a beating.
What are the requirements of the pumps?
Since the pumps must be able to operate in such harsh conditions, there are certain characteristics of the Packo pump that make a difference.
- No mechanical seal or intermediate bearings, leak proof and maintenance free, which makes the pumps very reliable, reducing down time and operating costs.
- Manufactured in 316L stainless steel, this makes them corrosion resistant to all the chemicals used in the baths.
These characteristics offer a high reliability, which is essential at Voestalpine Sadef, due to the continuous operation required for their applications.
Why Packo Pumps?
Production manager Gino Dutoit: “The close coupled system makes the Packo cantilever pump, commercially and technically, the best solution for us!“.
In addition, Sadef already has a number of Packo pumps in production which, just like the service, they are more than satisfied with.
