Pulsations dampeners
Air-operated double diaphragm pumps have a pulsating flow, leading to increased pipeline losses.
In pump processes where pulsations need to be minimized, Verderair pulsation dampeners provide the solution. When used correctly, the dampeners will reduce pulsations by 95%.
Verderair pulsation dampeners are made from UHMW polyethylene or 100% virgin PTFE. Both are also available in a conductive version to be used in ATEX environments. The dampeners have a PTFE or EPDM diaphragm, separating the pumped liquid from the air supply.
The dampeners are so-called active dampeners, reacting similarly to how the pump acts. An active dampener is connected to the air supply and has a double working method. First, the air in the air chamber is compressed by the diaphragm that is pushed up by the liquid pulse. Then, at the end of a pump stroke, compressed air pushes down the diaphragm to push the liquid out of the dampener.
By this combined function, the Verderair dampeners not only dampen the fluid pulse in an optimum way but also use only a very small amount of compressed air!
