Custom turnkey pumping skids

Verder have produced several compact cabinet and trolley-mounted pump skids for emptying sump run-off at various chemical and industrial sites.

If you require a small pumping skid for any project, Verder will work with you to provide a unit which is a sensible cost and performs well for you.

Verder have invested in the Service Centre to provide a team and facility that know pumps and can provide modifications to standard pump units. This means our customers get a working pump skid that's made exactly as they require using off-the-shelf components to keep the price down

ATEX Air Diaphragm pumping skid for chemical transfer

A chemical manufacturer required a pumping solution for chemicals and other fluids at multiple points around the site. The site itself was an ATEX environment and the site layout prevented forklift and even manual handling equipment from accessing points where the skid may need to be used.

The Verder team produced a pumping skid which crucially met the ATEX requirements of the site. The unit featured ATEX-compliant AODD pumps in conductive PP which also gave the flexibility to the client to pump multiple fluids with the same pump specification. The pumps were attached to a basic rig which was lightweight, which allowed an easy two-man carry should the skid need to be carried to an area inaccessible by manual handling assistance.

The units were earthed to prevent a build-up of static charge form the movement of the fluid. A pulsation dampener was also fitted to prevent inaccurate pipework readings and vibration.

Verderflex peristaltic trailer sludge pumping system

A water company required a pumping solution for a silt drainage application in reservoirs across multiple sites. The system features a Verderflex 65 peristaltic hose pump, which provided the perfect working principle for handling water containing silt, grit and other particles.

The unit was mounted on a robust trailer unit with a pulsation dampener to minimise the pulsing flow of the peristaltic action on the flexible hose on the discharge side.

The unit was operated by generator and control panel with a flexible hose being dropped into the reservoir to provide drainage for the viscous sludge/silt mixture. The peristaltic principle provides the suction lift needed to lift the viscous fluid from the lower water level.

Verderflex peristaltic catchpot drainage system

A waste water site required a pumping solution for the removal of chemicals such as ferric chloride mixed with water from catchpot areas. Verder UK designed a trolley system which could be easily moved around the site and even to further sites via van transport.

The trolley system used a Verderflex Dura peristaltic pump to handle the fluid thanks to its suction capabilities and that it can handle small solids such as hard grit pieces which may cause damage or build-up in other pumps.

Retractable hoses and an electrical power distribution all housed on a PP chemically resistant mounting body complete a packaged solution.

Verderair Pure ATEX Trolley System

A major manufacturer of chemicals required a pumping solution for a pilot plant. The pilot plant scales up from a small, laboratory-sized quantity to a production yield large enough to require an IBC. There is a multitude of different compounds being handled in the plant, with a flushing of hot water at 90°C between the different types. The pump was also required to run-dry and self-prime due to the nature container emptying.

The system features a Verder Pure 15 air-operated double diaphragm pump. ATEX compliance required the pump to be conductive and to be able to be earthed during the pumping process.

The pump was specified with a conductive PTFE casing and standard PTFE wet side materials. The pump was required to handle 20-30 litres per minute at 5.25 – 4.5 bar with suction lift of up to 1 metre. The connection was a standard ½” NPT.

The pump was fitted to a stainless steel trolley with 4” rubber anti-static rubber roller bearing wheels. An earth wire and clip an air filter regulator was also fitted.

About our mobile pumping skids

The Verder UK Project Team have produced a range of mobile turnkey pump skids for various applications:

  • Sump and catchpot emptying
  • IBC transfer
  • Silt drainage in reservoir management
  • Chemical injection in ATEX environments

Our pumping systems feature both Verder and 3rd party pump brands. Verder are one of the few pumping solutions providers that design, build and sell their own pumps and also build them into their own systems. This means the quality control is maintained to a high level and the pump design team and system builders can collaborate to optimise the end product.

We operate an 'open door' policy on our designs for applications - If you have a process that needs a pumping solution, we'll work with you to make it happen. Contact the Verder Project Team on 01924 221 005 or projects@verder.co.uk.
